It only took four regular-season games for Azzi Fudd to deliver the kind of performance that reminds everyone why the Dallas Wings believed so strongly in her upside entering the 2026 season. Monday night felt like a glimpse into what Dallas hopes becomes a regular occurrence.

Fudd scored a career-high 12 points in the Wings’ convincing 92-69 win over the Washington Mystics while looking increasingly comfortable within Dallas’ offense. She shot 6-for-9 from the field, added two rebounds and three assists, and finished with a +20 plus-minus in 24 minutes off the bench.
The stat line itself stood out. The way she got there may have been even more impressive. Fudd never looked rushed. She played within the flow of the offense, made quick decisions and took advantage of openings without forcing the action. For a rookie still adjusting to the pace and physicality of the WNBA, that level of composure jumps off the screen.
And it is exactly why Dallas fans have every reason to be excited.

Monday’s performance was the clearest example yet. She attacked gaps confidently, moved well without the ball and consistently found herself in the right spots offensively. There was a calmness to her game that fit perfectly alongside Dallas’ more established stars.
While Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 18 points and seven assists, and Arike Ogunbowale added 16 points, Fudd quietly became one of the most efficient players on the floor. That kind of depth changes the ceiling for Dallas.

The Wings suddenly have another dangerous scoring option
The most encouraging part for Dallas may be how naturally Fudd fits into the team’s offensive structure already. The Wings finished with 30 assists and knocked down 11 three-pointers while controlling the game almost from start to finish. Fudd’s ability to seamlessly slide into that ball movement-heavy approach gives Dallas another perimeter weapon defenses have to respect.
That matters over the course of a long season. Young teams often struggle with consistency offensively, especially when relying heavily on rookies. But if Fudd continues developing this quickly, the Wings may have found another reliable scorer much earlier than expected. And considering this was only the fourth regular-season game of her career, that should probably be viewed as a very good sign for Dallas moving forward.
