After moving on from Trae Young last season, the Atlanta Hawks continue evaluating long-term options at the guard position.
One player the organization reportedly hopes to retain is C.J. McCollum, who joined Atlanta in the blockbuster trade involving Young.
The veteran guard became an important part of the rotation after arriving from the New Orleans Pelicans, appearing in 41 regular season games and starting 25 of them.
He also opened every game during Atlanta’s first-round playoff series.
Atlanta may still continue adding talent to the backcourt this offseason regardless of McCollum’s future.
The Hawks currently hold the No. 8 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, giving them another opportunity to address the position.
Prospects connected to Atlanta include guards Keaton Wagler, Mikel Brown Jr., Darius Acuff Jr., and Kingston Flemings.
If the draft board does not fall in their favor, the Hawks could instead target additional size by considering center Aday Mara.
