Main Event Breakdown
This weekend’s main event will be an explosive clash of generations and styles between Song Yadong and former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo.

For the 28-year-old Song, this is about proving he is ready for the division’s absolute elite. Fighting in a region where he is a major star, Song will likely look to leverage his youth, volume, and boxing.
Training under the tutelage of Team Alpha Male, his most recent fight was a decision loss to Sean O’Malley that exposed the holes in his game. Upon rewatching their fight, I noticed Yadong had trouble cutting off the cage effectively, and his cardio in round 3 was starting to fade.

He was also very predictable and was telegraphing power shots, which caused him to get countered by O’Malley. While Yadong has powerful punches, his striking has not improved much since joining the UFC, and his game plans are almost nonexistent. I worry if he continues training with Urijah Faber and Team Alpha Male, he will hit a ceiling despite his athletic potential.

Figueiredo, now 38, is a wild card. His record at bantamweight has been a mix of highs and lows, and he has lost to some of the division’s best in Umar Nurmagomedov and current champion Petr Yan.

Still, this fight is definitely winnable for the Brazilian, especially if he attempts to test Song’s grappling in the early rounds and outvolume him in the later rounds.
He will have to be focused, however, as Song’s knockout power is still a threat, though the Chinese fighter hasn’t scored a knockout since 2023 against Ricky Simon.

This fight will determine who will be in the title conversation and who will be relegated to the middle of the pack.
