Dallas Wings superstar Paige Bueckers is a student of the game.
When speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Bueckers was asked if she’s been keeping up with the 2026 NBA playoffs. In her response, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year named two remaining players she models some of her game after: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Brunson.

“I take a lot from Shai’s game, just being able to get to your spot consistently,” Bueckers said.
“Watching Jalen Brunson and his footwork, I think I’ve learned a lot from that,” she added. “His ability to not be the tallest, most athletic person on the floor, but his consistency in getting to his spots, getting to the rim, getting to the free-throw line and being aggressive that way. I really enjoy watching it.”
Bueckers picked two great players to learn from.
Gilgeous-Alexander and Brunson are the top two scorers remaining in the NBA postseason, averaging 28 and 26.9 points per game, respectively.
Brunson and the New York Knicks punched their ticket to the NBA Finals with an Eastern Conference Finals sweep over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are one win away from joining the Knicks, taking a 3-2 Western Conference Finals series lead over the Spurs with a 127-114 win in Game 5.
