Recent mock draft pairs Duke standout with alum Jayson Tatum

While former Duke star Cameron Boozer is expected to go top-three in the 2026 NBA Draft, there’s no telling where sharpshooter Isaiah Evans may land. A 15-point-per-game scorer in his sophomore year with the Blue Devils, the biggest impact Evans can bring an NBA team is his shooting.

Evans led all Duke players in 3-pointers made last season and shot a career 38% from deep during his college career. While some mock drafts have had Evans as high as the No. 21 overall selection, a recent mock draft by Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has Evans going to the Boston Celtics with the No. 27 overall pick. There he would team up with another former Duke star, Jayson Tatum.

The duo have met one another already, as Tatum has continued to work with the university as Duke’s chief basketball officer. With the NBA Draft about a month away, Evans’ draft position could still change significantly. However, Duke fans would sure be excited to see Evans and Tatum share the floor just as they were when Tatum played with former Duke point guard Kyrie Irving.
