A trade for Myles Garrett would be a once-in-a-lifetime move, even for the Los Angeles Rams and general manager Les Snead. But if any NFL franchise is willing to surrender multiple first-round picks for a future Hall of Famer, it’s the Rams, and Tuesday is the deadline to watch as the Cleveland Browns show their cards if they’re willing to make a deal or not after June 1st.

As of Sunday night, there are no credible rumors that the Rams are trying to trade for Garrett. Only unverified accounts like this one that claim that L.A. has made a call about Garrett, however most reasonable people believe that the Browns could be open to a trade given how things have gone for the team and player recently.
Garrett’s contract stand-off with the Browns in 2025 served as the first sign of trouble, and although he signed a four-year, $160 million extension in March to remain in Cleveland, it already appears as though the two sides are open to a separation. Garrett is absent from OTAs (however, it’s not the first time) and he said after breaking the single-season sack record in 2025 that he wants to contend, not rebuild.
The Browns also modified his new contract this year to free up more cap space. And just like A.J. Brown’s situation with the Eagles, a player who the Rams were more openly pursuing on the trade market prior to the draft, Garrett is expected to be available after Monday:

The Browns can trade Garrett on June 2nd and save over $8 million against the 2026 salary cap, whereas if they traded him on Monday, they would lose $17 million in cap space. By waiting, the Browns can push their dead cap hit into the future and make a deal tenable against the salary cap in 2026.
That’s why Cleveland is expected to possibly trade Garrett by Tuesday or later.
What would it cost the Rams?
Dawgs by Nature posits that maybe it would be worth it to trade Garrett at the starting price of three first-round picks. That seems a little steep, even for the best pass rusher in the world. Garrett turns 31 in December and is owed an enormous amount of money, including $41 million guaranteed in 2027.
There are talks of whether or not the Eagles would become a viable suitor for Garrett after they trade Brown, or if Cleveland and Philadelphia could work out a three-team trade—hence including the Rams—to satisfy all parties.

The Rams have all of their future first round picks and they could be open to trading at least two of those for Garrett. If Snead is actually looking into it, he might be trying to find out what kind of value players like Byron Young, Kobie Turner, Steve Avila, and Terrance Ferguson have on the trade market. L.A. won’t want to part with any of them, but is it going to take one or two NFL-ready players to execute a trade without giving up three first round picks?
For example, the 2022 Broncos-Seahawks trade for Russell Wilson not only included two firsts and two seconds going to Seattle, but also three players, including young tight end Noah Fant, a then-recent first-round pick.
How much better do the Rams get next season if they lose Young and Ferguson, but get back Garrett?
Given L.A.’s abundance of tight ends on the roster, including rookie Max Klare, that may be a position that Snead is comfortable pawning in the right trade.
