UFC Freedom 250 goes down this Sunday on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington D.C. The event is said to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary, which is on July 4th, but it also lands on the 80th birthday of President Donald Trump, who’s been championed throughout his political career by the UFC, and more specifically its CEO Dana White. The card features two title fights: A UFC lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, and an interim heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane.
How is this event being perceived given its political affiliation? What can we expect from a UFC event at the White House? Who will come out on top in these title fights, and how can the results affect the fighters’ legacy? We break it all down.
