Wisconsin football has been doing pretty well this offseason in terms of getting top-notch commits. On Monday, they followed suit by getting OL Jack Tabbert at a Wisconsin camp, per Evan Flood of On3Sports.com.

In the process, they were able to snatch him away from North Dakota State University. As a result, Wisconsin now has 21 committs, including 10 from the state. Tabbert is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound interior offensive lineman from Pewaukee, near Milwaukee. In March, Tabbert had received offers from other schools, including Central Michigan, South Dakota, Harvard, and Yale. Eventually, he initially committed to North Dakota State.
Tabbert’s commitment continues the Badgers’ surge of good luck. They are coming off snatching Mekhi Williams, a 2027 four-star defensive back, who decommitted from Florida State. In terms of offensive linemen, the Badgers got four-star Cole Reiter, four-star Hunter Mallinger, three-star Reece Mallinger, and three-star Ethan McIntosh as part of the class of 2027. They are also possibly looking to snatch up four-star player Alijah Shaw. He had two weekend visits to both Wisconsin and Arkansas, narrowing his decision down to both.
Meanwhile, the Badgers are coming off a season in which they went 4-8, including 2-7 in the Big Ten. Heading into 2026, the expectation is for the Badgers to contend for a bowl game. Under head coach Luke Fickell, the Badgers are building up depth by adding former Old Dominion QB Colton Joseph. Additionally, they continue to bolster their offensive line under OL coach Eric Mateos. Plus, they have a fairly balanced schedule this year compared to last season, when they played six top-25 teams.
