Champ Rugby winners Worcester Warriors have signed former Gloucester lock Tom Savage from Super Rugby side Moana Pasifika.
The 37-year-old spent eight seasons with the Cherry and Whites before moving to Japanese top-flight side Tokyo Sungoliath in 2019.
After four seasons in Japan he signed for Moana Pasifika with his three-year stint also including a spell playing provincial rugby in New Zealand for North Harbour.
Savage is the second senior signing of the close season, following Exeter scrum-half Charlie Chapman’s move to Sixways.
“Tom is someone who drives high performance and togetherness from his team-mates,” Warriors head coach Matt Everard said., external
“As a player, Tom brings a huge amount of experience and leadership. Having made nearly 200 appearances for Gloucester and playing the last two seasons in Super Rugby, we are very excited to see Tom pull on a Worcester shirt.”
The club have also brought in four younger players in recent days with Scotland Under-18 pair Monty Oliver and Lochie Glackin, winger Zach Armstrong and centre Jack Hopson.
