The Dallas Cowboys have a mandatory minicamp next week and the biggest question surrounding it is whether or not wide receiver George Pickens will be in attendance. Pickens recently held a camp in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram was able to get an answer to that question. Kind of.
“At the Corpus Christi event, the Star-Telegram was able to briefly catch up with Pickens to ask if he planned on being present for the Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp next week. His answer?
Pickens gave a shrug with an “uhhhh” before a representative of his agency cut him off to say he would not be answering any more questions.”
We can read into this, or we can save our time and energy.

Was Pickens going to say that he was going to be in attendance? Or was he trying to figure out how to politically say that he wouldn’t? Obviously his representation stepped in to avoid any mishaps.
Time is ultimately going to tell in short order, but there really isn’t any huge point of drama with this situation, and that is really saying something when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys.
The team placed the franchise tag on Pickens at the beginning of the offseason. Had he not signed it, then there would be legitimate intrigue and question around this situation. Here’s the thing. Pickens did sign it. The answer is known.
It is certainly possible that Pickens won’t show up to the mandatory minicamp, but he already pledged his allegiance to the 2026 Dallas Cowboys when he put pen to paper.
