Azzi Fudd has come out on the losing end of both head-to-head duels with Olivia Miles in the WNBA.

The second loss, a 100-76 defeat last Tuesday, was particularly brutal.
Fudd had a bad night from the floor and scored six points on 2-of-12 shooting. Making matters worse, the Minnesota Lynx‘s official X account trolled her with a side-by-side comparison of her stats with Miles’.

However, Fudd has responded nicely to that setback — and entering Monday night’s Commissioner’s Cup tilt against the Las Vegas Aces, Fudd and the Dallas Wings will feel fairly good about where they are.
The Wings are 8-5 after splitting their two games since the Lynx loss. And Fudd has scored a combined 35 points while playing superb defense agains the Phoenix Mercury and the Portland Fire.
It is possible — if not probable — that Miles already has done enough to win the Rookie of the Year award.

Miles even has been mentioned as a potential MVP candidate for her enormous impact on a Lynx team that has played all season without Napheesa Collier.
But after a slow start, Fudd is starting to put together an impressive rookie year of her own.
Fudd is averaging 12.4 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent from 3-point land and nearly 86 percent from the free-throw line.
That she is in contention for a 50-40-90 season as a rookie who began her season on the bench says a whole lot about her skillset and offensive potential.
More than likely, Fudd is going to be just fine, and the top two picks of the 2026 draft will be dueling for years to come.
