The UFC is taking no breaks after its historic event at the White House as octagon action resumes Saturday with UFC Fight Night 279 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas (Paramount+).

A high-stakes flyweight rematch headlines the card. Title hopefuls Manel Kape (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Kyoji Horiguchi (36-5 MMA, 9-1 UFC) will clash in a five-round bout that comes after their first meeting under the RIZIN FF banner in December 2017, which Horiguchi won by third-round submission.

Manel Kape vs. Kyoji Horiguchi

Ion Cutelaba vs. Navajo Stirling

Ion Cutelaba (20-11-1 MMA, 9-10-1 UFC) has earned 17 of his 20 career victories by stoppage.

Navajo Stirling’s (9-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) four-fight UFC winning streak at light heavyweight is the second-longest active streak in the division behind Carlos Ulberg (10).

Andre Fili (25-12 MMA, 13-11 UFC) competes in his 27th UFC featherweight bout, tied with Max Holloway for second-most appearances in divisional history behind Darren Elkins (28).

Fili’s 13 victories in UFC featherweight competition are tied for fourth-most in divisional history behind Holloway (20), Elkins (18) and Cub Swanson (16).

Fili has earned nine of his 14 UFC victories by decision.

Fili’s five split decision victories in UFC competition are tied with Gleison Tibau for most in company history.

Vinicius Oliveira (23-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) moves up to the featherweight division after spending his previous five octagon appearances at bantamweight.

Hyder Amil vs. Christian Rodriguez

Hyder Amil (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has suffered consecutive losses after starting his career 11-1.

Amil lands 7.39 significant strikes per minute in UFC featherweight competition, the third-best rate in divisional history behind Billy Quarantillo (7.56) and Shane Burgos (7.4).

Christian Rodriguez (12-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) is 2-3 since he moved up to the UFC featherweight division in March 2024.

Andre Lima vs. Kevin Borjas

Andre Lima (11-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) became the first fighter in UFC history to earn a victory by disqualification for his opponent biting. The feat happened at UFC on ESPN 53.

Lima’s four-fight UFC winning streak at flyweight is the third-longest active streak in the division behind Van (seven) and Horiguchi (five).

Karol Rosa vs. Luana Santos

Karol Rosa (19-7 MMA, 8-4 UFC) has alternated wins and losses over her past nine fights. She was victorious in her most recent bout in August.

Rosa has earned all eight of her UFC victories by decision.

Leon Shahbazyan vs. Levan Chokheli

Leon Shahbazyan (12-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC), brother of UFC middleweight Edmen Shahbazyan, becomes the 45th set of siblings to compete in the octagon.

Levan Chokheli (14-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut after a seven-fight Bellator stint where he went 4-3.
