The Boston Celtics are reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated with the ongoing speculation surrounding a potential trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider.
Much of the discussion has centered on the possibility of Jaylen Brown being included in a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, but the continued rumors are beginning to wear on the organization.
Fischer reports that the Celtics are “weary” of the constant chatter linking Brown to Milwaukee as part of a blockbuster package for Antetokounmpo.
Sources also indicated that reports suggesting Brown could be rerouted to a third team as part of a larger multi-team transaction are premature at this stage, with no such framework currently close to materializing.
The speculation comes after reports earlier this week claimed that Antetokounmpo would be willing to sign a contract extension with Boston if a trade to the Celtics were completed, fueling further discussion about a potential deal between the Eastern Conference rivals.
Meanwhile, Brown continues to draw interest from around the league.
The Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, and Atlanta Hawks have all been mentioned as teams monitoring his situation amid the uncertainty surrounding Boston’s pursuit of Antetokounmpo.
