The first woman to ever step foot in the UFC cage for a fight, Liz Carmouche is still a top flyweight after all these years.
At PFL San Diego, Carmouche (26-8) “jumped the gilly” and submitted fellow UFC alum Viviane Araujo (14-8) with a guillotine choke at 2:07 of Round 2. The flyweight bout served as the co-main event Saturday at Pechanga San Diego.
Carmouche, 42, moved to an unprecedented 13-1 in Bellator/PFL post-UFC release. She’s won four fights in a row. The streak included a 2025 PFL World Tournament victory. The victory could align her with a title fight against Dakota Ditcheva at the end of the year, PFL CEO John Martin said on the broadcast.

However, Carmouche called for the addition of a PFL women’s bantamweight division after the fight.
Araujo, 39, falls to 1-1 in PFL. She has alternated wins and losses over the span of her most recent six fights.
