Business has been BOOOOMing for Ohio State on the recruiting trail as of late. Coming off a stretch of crucial official visits, the Buckeyes picked up a pair of new commitments in their 2027 class over the weekend.
Kicking things off on Friday night, Ohio State earned itself a massive win deep in SEC country with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Caden Moss.
Moss checks in as the No. 7 OT and No. 72 player nationally per the 247Sports Composite, while the Rivals Industry ranking has him as the No. 5 IOL and No. 45 player overall. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound lineman likely projects along the interior at the next level, but has been named a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American and MaxPreps Junior All-American at tackle each of the last two seasons.

A long time Ole Miss lean, Moss visited at least seven times with the in-state Rebels in both an official and unofficial capacity, with his most recent trip in the official capacity on June 19. Ohio State, meanwhile, welcomed Moss to campus three times total over the last two years, with his official visit in Columbus taking place on June 12.
Clearly position coach Tyler Bowen and the Buckeyes pulled out all the stops during that trip, as shortly thereafter Ohio State became a real player for the Missouri native. Then, in the week leading up to his announcement, the On3 RPMs started flowing in favor of Ryan Day’s crew, and on Friday Moss announced his commitment to Ohio State.
“There is no better place than Ohio State to get me where I want to go,” Moss told Rivals. “[Bowen]’s straight to the point. He told me for the dreams and aspirations I have, Ohio State is best for me. I want to be a first-round pick and the first offensive lineman off the board when my time comes, and he believes Ohio State is the place to make that happen.”
Moss adds to an impressive group for Bowen as the sixth offensive lineman commit in this 2027 class, joining a trio of Ohio guys in Kellen Wymer, Mason Wilt and Davis Seaman in addition to Jimmy Kalis (PA) and Brody McNeel (VA). Both Moss and Wymer rank as top-100 overall players in the 247Sports Composite, with all six guys being composite four-star prospects.

Elsewhere, new Ohio State wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton is looking to do his best Brian Hartline impression with the commitment of Florida wideout, Jordan Donahoo.
A three-star prospect, Donahoo is the No. 135 WR in the 2027 class per 247Sports, but with a more than 30-school offer sheet with programs like Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Wisconsin and others in the mix (including Hartline’s South Florida), the big-bodied 6-foot-4 pass-catcher is clearly highly coveted.
Prior to his commitment on Saturday, Donahoo made his official visit to Ohio State last weekend alongside fellow OSU receiver target Blake Wong, who recently committed to BYU. The Buckeyes were a late addition to Donahoo’s offer sheet, who held a top three of Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Minnesota prior to his Ohio State offer on May 23. From there, Hankton aggressively pursued Donahoo, and things clearly escalated quite quickly.

Donahoo finished his junior season with 34 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns at Oviedo High School. A multi-sport athlete, Donahoo also competes with both basketball and track and field for the Lions.
From here, Hankton and Ohio State will look to add at least one more wide receiver to this 2027 class alongside Donahoo and five-star Ohio native Jamier Brown. They are hoping that it will be five-star Monshun Sales and/or current Texas Tech commit Benny Easter.

Speaking of Sales, he is one of several top Ohio State targets set to announce his commitment in the next few weeks.
The first of which is Marcus Fakatou, a five-star DL and the No. 24 overall player in the 247Sports Composite who is scheduled to make his decision public on Monday night. The Buckeyes are the heavy favorites to land his commitment, but Texas has been making a heavy last-minute NIL push.

Ohio corner Monsanna Torbert is set to announce his commitment later this week, with his decision likely coming between Ohio State and Michigan. Karlos May is next up on July 18, and the latest rumblings have the Buckeyes as the favorite here as well.
The big one on the near horizon is David Gabriel Georges. A five-star running back and likely Ohio State’s top overall remaining target, it is the Buckeyes and the Tennessee Volunteers jockeying for position here. Carlos Locklyn and company seemed to have made a huge impression on the Tennessee native during his official visit back at the end of May, but nothing is set in stone with still more than three weeks until decision day.
