Ohio State and Michigan have been battling for Buckeye State recruit. With the four-star defender choosing the Wolverines, it’s a tough break for Ryan Day’s program.

The Ohio State Buckeyes started the week with a big recruiting win by adding 2027 five-star DL Marcus Fakatou. It was the first of potentially two additions the Buckeyes had eyes on this week.

Ohio State has been battling Michigan in hopes of landing in-state four-star CB Monsanna Torbert. The former Indiana Hoosiers commitment has announced his commitment, and it’s news for the Buckeyes.

Torbert committed to Michigan on Wednesday evening, and there’s already noise out there on why he chose them instead of the Buckeyes.
