Conor McGregor is no stranger to delivering a winning performance after a long layoff.
The last time McGregor had to dust off the cobwebs and put on the gloves, he delivered one of the fastest finishes of his career. Back in 2020, the Irish superstar fought veteran Donald Cerrone after two years away from the octagon. Despite the lack of activity, McGregor delivered a TKO finish in just 40 seconds in the main event of UFC 246. It was a unique finish, as the finishing sequence was started with shoulder strikes – a weapon rarely used in MMA.

McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) returns to action on July 11 in the main event of UFC 329 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He takes on Max Holloway (27-9 MMA, 23-9 UFC) in a rematch that stems from a 2013 meeting, which McGregor won by unanimous decision. The bout is set to be contested at 170 pounds. This marks McGregor’s first fight since suffering a nasty leg break in his loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
