Colin Cowherd Calls Out WNBA Players For ‘Petty’ Treatment Of Caitlin Clark

by

Caitlin Clark was named a starter for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, but it’s not because she got a lot of love from her peers.

The WNBA All-Star voting is comprised of fan votes (50%), media votes (25%) and player votes (25%). Clark was inside the top three in fan and media voting for all WNBA guards. The players in the league, however, had her ranked No. 11 among all guards.

We’re not kidding. Despite the fact that Clark is averaging 21.2 points and 8.2 assists per game this season, WNBA players believe there are 10 guards better than her.

During Friday’s episode of “The Herd,” Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd ripped the WNBA’s players for constantly trying to put down Clark.

“She’s the No. 1 shooter, distributor, play initiator, playmaker, and she was voted the 11th best guard in the sport,” Cowherd said. “WNBA fans voted her as the 11th best guard. The animosity towards Caitlin Clark – a lot of people are getting angry on the internet. It’s just so petty.”

This isn’t the first time Cowherd has called out the WNBA.

After the WNBA left Clark off its 30th anniversary poster, Cowherd went on a rant about the league being paranoid and weird about its most marketable player.

“The WNBA just keeps driving into a wall at full speed with Caitlin Clark. They have a commemorative poster for 30 years of the WNBA; Caitlin Clark isn’t on it. This isn’t an ode to the veterans who started the league – Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese are on it. When she broke into the league, you [the WNBA] moved her road games to accommodate the fans. She made such an impact that you transitioned to private jets. And yet Caitlin isn’t on the 30-year poster,” Cowherd said. “Her games got double the ratings of A’ja Wilson, the best player in the league. This is a paranoid, weird, insular league.”

With the way this WNBA season has played out, it wouldn’t surprise us if Cowherd unleashes another rant about Clark.
