UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland regrets mocking Dustin Poirier for opening up about his depression.
Poirier cited his father’s homelessness as a big reason for his depression, which led to his recent arrest for public drunkenness. Strickland told Poirier to “shut the f*ck up” about what he’s feeling and to be grateful for the life he has, adding that “male depression” isn’t real.

Strickland later backtracked on his comments after a conversation with Poirier.
“I spoke to Dustin and he is legitimately messed up by his actions I thought he was just doing PR clean up tbh..” Strickland wrote on X. “I guess not everyone is a POS like me lol So yeah I repent and I am sorry Dustin. Hope budlight does the right thing with this one. He deserves the help.”
Poirier mentioned losing a big sponsor as a result of his arrest, which Strickland is assuming is Bud Light.
