Olivia Miles injury update: Lynx point guard to miss second consecutive game

UNCASVILLE, CT — Minnesota Lynx point guard Olivia Miles will miss her second consecutive game because of a right calf injury.

The Lynx play the Connecticut Sun for the second time this week, this time at Mohegan Sun Arena. Miles last played in a loss to the New York Liberty on July 3. She left the game early because of cramping.

Miles, the favorite for Rookie of the Year, has started 20 games for the league-leading Lynx, averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 30.5 minutes. She was the No. 2 overall pick in the WNBA draft out of TCU.

Paige Bueckers was selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA draft, and the guard went on to win Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game in her first season.

Teammate Napheesa Collier is also out, but is expected to return soon from the ankle injury sustained in the postseason last fall.

Wednesday night’s game against Connecticut (5-16) will also be another chance for Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve to break the record for most regular-season wins in WNBA history. Both Reeve and coach Mike Thibault, longtime coach of the Sun, have 379 wins.
