Alpha Diallo could be heading back to the NBA after establishing himself as one of Europe’s top two-way forwards, with the Denver Nuggets reportedly showing strong interest in the AS Monaco standout.
According to Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com, Diallo is expected to join Dubai Basketball for the 2026-27 season, but his agreement includes an NBA opt-out clause that remains active until July 15, giving NBA teams an opportunity to sign him.
The former Providence star went undrafted in 2020 before building an impressive career in Europe.
During five seasons with AS Monaco, Diallo developed into one of the EuroLeague’s premier defenders, winning the league’s Best Defender award this past season after finishing third in the voting the year before.
In 42 EuroLeague games during the 2025-26 campaign, the 29-year-old averaged 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
He led the EuroLeague with 57 total steals and ranked first among forwards in points allowed per possession.
Diallo also helped Monaco capture French league championships in 2023, 2024, and 2026, while reaching the EuroLeague Final Four in 2025.
Denver currently has room to add players to its roster, although the team’s financial situation could limit any offer to a veteran minimum contract.
The Nuggets are also continuing negotiations with restricted free agents Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones, whose futures could impact the club’s pursuit of Diallo.
