WNBA star Brittney Griner is having a remarkable season with the Connecticut Sun this 2026. She’s averaging 13.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks per game, leading Connecticut in both points and blocks while ranking second in rebounds and fourth in assists.

During the Sun’s June 22 game against the Chicago Sky, Griner also made history by becoming the WNBA’s all-time leader in blocks.

Amid her continued individual success with the Sun, however, it appears Griner is also working on her personal development, which could be beneficial for her future in the sport.

On Monday, Griner revealed in a post on Threads that she is learning more about coaching. In the video she posted, the Sun center revealed that she’s watching film of the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky game and analyzing the movement of Indiana‘s post players.

Griner shared that she would be watching more games in order to create her scouting report.

“Taking this coaching thing seriously,” Griner wrote in the caption of her post.

The video sparked plenty of reactions, with many showing support and stating that they want to see Griner become a WNBA coach in the future.

“Yasss… can’t wait to see Head Coach Brittney Griner!” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “Would love to see you as a WNBA coach BG!”

“Coach BG got a nice ring to it!” a fan added.

A supporter shared, “I’m very hyped for the Coach BG future.”

“Would love to see you as a coach in the wnba someday,” a follower stated.

A sixth poster declared, “You’ll be an awesome coach in the W’s future.”
