Auburn agrees to NIL deal for Aflac Kickoff Game against Baylor

by

The Associated Press and others are reporting that Auburn has agreed to a multi-million dollar NIL agreement with the Aflac Kickoff Game, which will take place on Sept. 5 against Baylor at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Under the terms of the agreement, a maximum of 24 Auburn student-athletes will promote the contest via social media, public appearances, in-game promotions, and other avenues.

“This new model is a true win-win scenario where Auburn and its student-athletes get a financial boost in the NIL space,” said Peach Bowl Inc. CEO David Epps in a statement. “At the same time, it’s a potential game changer for neutral-site games like ours who want to bring added value to participating teams and make it a more attractive and lucrative opportunity.”

Peach Bowl Inc. operates the Peach Bowl and the Kickoff Game. This is said to be the first time that a neutral-site college football game has come up with an agreement to include NIL compensation for a particular program.
