Minnesota (19-6) defeated Los Angeles (10-13), 96-87, on Wednesday at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 16,410 were in attendance for the WNBA game.

Former Lady Vol Rae Burrell started for the Sparks and played 33 minutes. She led Los Angeles in scoring with 24 points, while also recording four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Burrell converted 8-of-14 field goal attempts, 2-of-5 three-point attempts and 6-of-6 free throw attempts.

Kayla McBride also scored 24 points for the Lynx. She totaled one rebound, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes.

Los Angeles outrebounded Minnesota, 31-25. The Sparks also committed 20 turnovers, while the Lynx had 12 turnovers.

Burrell played at Tennessee from 2018-22. She appeared in 110 games, including 47 starts, and averaged 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 22.6 minutes per contest. At Tennessee, Burrell was named to the 2021-22 USA TODAY Preseason All-America Third Team.

She was selected by Los Angeles in the first round of the 2022 WNBA draft (No. 9 overall).
