Texas A&M’s future secondary looks to be in solid shape if the Aggies’ No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class tells us anything, featuring blue-chip safeties Kamarui Dorsey and JayQuan Snell, five-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, and rising three-star corners Loia Valade and Hakeem Frampton, who all look like perfect fits in coach Mike Elko’s scheme.
So far, Dorsey, Snell, Henry, and Frampton have shut down their recruitments, and after losing out on five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who committed to South Carolina earlier this month, keeping Raylaun Henry in the fold before Early Signing Day is the primary focus. Shutting down his recruitment was a big deal, and, according to AggieYell insider Joseph Hastings, nothing has changed since Henry’s official visit on June 12.

Since shutting things down back in March, Henry has not taken any visits outside of College Station, and given his strong relationship with cornerbacks coach Bryant Gross-Armiento, especially after Jordan Peterson departed for Kansas State, Henry stated to Hastings that his official visit “put the icing on the cake” of his commitment.
“I shut down my recruitment for a reason — I’m locked in with A&M,” Henry stated. “All the official visit did was put the icing on the cake. It’s the time to come home, honestly. I would say it’s the coaching staff and the environment. Talking with the coaching staff every day and even when I’m down there. Talking with the players and my future teammates, and getting to know them a little bit.”
At 6’1″ and 180 pounds, Henry, in my humble opinion, is tied with five-star CB John Meredith as the best man corner in the cycle, while his ability to recover in coverage, fluidity in his backpedal, and calm demeanor when making a play on the ball continue to stand out ahead of his all-important senior season.
Like all of the Aggies’ 26 commits in the 2027 cycle, Henry is fully bought into Mike Elko’s vision for the program and is ready to finally put pen to paper in December and is likely to enroll early in January.
“It helped remind me why I committed,” Henry continued. “I feel like it’s a brotherhood type of environment, and that’s what I’m looking for.”
