Tennessee and Georgia are not scheduled to play each other this season for the first time since 1991. The Bulldogs lead the all-time football series, 30-23-2, dating to Nov. 11, 1899.
Georgia has won nine consecutive games in the series. Kirby Smart is 9-1 against Tennessee as the Bulldogs’ head coach.

Smart took part in SEC media days on Tuesday in Tampa, Florida. He discussed not playing the Vols this season.
“It’s a tough place to play and tough team to play,” Smart said. “I got a lot of respect for Josh (Heupel) and their staff. I mean, they’re a tough prep. They’re really hard to prepare for.
“I’m glad other teams get an opportunity to do that, and then we get some new teams to play. Very unique scheduling. Looking forward to the new format and the matchups that are created through the new format.”
Tennessee is scheduled to play at Georgia in 2027 and is slated to host the Bulldogs in 2029 at Neyland Stadium.
