As we always say, “once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye,” and that carries over to coaching at times too, especially with a guy like former Ohio State player and assistant Brian Hartline. His departure is going to leave a hole in Columbus, but many in Buckeye Nation will be rooting for Hartline down at USF as its new head coach.
Hartline stepped to the podium at the American Conference Kickoff media days on Thursday for his first taste of talking to a massive media presence as a first-time head coach, and we (and maybe you) were interested to see and hear him speak. He came off pretty polished, which isn’t too much of a surprise because he had plenty of opportunities in front of one of the biggest media throngs in all of college football at Ohio State.

Hartline spent a lot of his time going through the timeline, and conversations took place through his hiring and beyond as he gets Year 1 under his belt, but he also credited his time in Columbus for a lot of what will be his modus operandi and culture in Tampa.
You can watch and listen to all of Hartline’s comments thanks to the South Florida Athletics YouTube channel, and listen to Hartline credit the people and coaches he was around, the winning culture, and what he can bring from Ohio State as he starts his head coaching career.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on Hartline and what he’s doing down in Tampa as the head coach of the Bulls, and we will always wish him well unless a team he is coaching butts up against scarlet and gray.
