As the 2026 Kentucky basketball season approaches, coach Mark Pope is turning his recruiting attention to the 2027 class. He has one commitment already in Ryan Hampton, but continues to offer talented players a spot on next year’s roster. The latest name to receive an offer from the Wildcats is Ahmed Nur.
Nur is a 6’9″, 190 lb power forward out of Arizona. He is rated four stars by 247Sports, and ranks as their No. 25 overall player in the 2027 class. Some other services have him even higher.

Kentucky joins a long list of schools to offer Nur that includes Kansas, Cincinnati, the Washington Huskies, and a number of SEC teams. As he rises up the rankings, he’s sure to attract even more offers from top programs around the country as well.
Pope has finally broken through with his first five-star recruit, and would love to have an overall top class. Nur would not only help achieve that, but would be a tremendous fit in the Kentucky offense. He has good length, but can stretch the defense with his shooting, making him a tough matchup. He made 38% from three-point range on the Adidas 3SSB circuit and averaged nearly 15 points per game.
There’s no doubt he would be a nice addition to the Wildcats roster if Kentucky can beat out the competition for him. We will continue to update his recruitment.
