Tavion Banks comments on court eligibility ruling, Iowa basketball

by

Judge Charlotte Sweeney of the U.S. District Court of Colorado granted a preliminary injunction on Friday declaring that all class of 2022 athletes that exhausted their fourth season of college eligibility this spring are eligible for a fifth season this school year.

Former Iowa basketball forward Tavion Banks is among that group of 2022 athletes that are now eligible for a fifth season of college athletics. Banks took to social media to react. For Iowa fans hoping Banks might wind up back in Iowa City, his social media post sounds like he’s looking elsewhere for his fifth and final college basketball season.

“Today’s news is something I prayed for. I’m hungry & ready to get to work in my final year. Much love to Iowa, a year I won’t forget! I’m excited to find the best BASKETBALL fit for my final year,” Banks wrote on X.
