Former MSU fan favorite signs with Bosnian basketball team

The career of a popular fan favorite for Michigan State basketball a few years ago will continue overseas. This week, it was reported by Msuabovetherim on X that Rocket Watts has signed with Bosnia’s KK Radnicki Gorazde of the Slovak Basketball League.

This will be the second straight year in the Slovak Basketball League for Mark “Rocket” Watts, where he played last season with BK Ikra Syit.

Watts played in East Lansing from 2019-2021, where he was a beloved fan favorite his freshman year. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2020 following that season. Watts’ sophomore season was a more difficult one, as Rocket was asked, with the departure of Cassius Winston, to play point guard instead of his natural position at shooting guard. After a frustrating season, Watts made the move to transfer to Mississippi State, where he struggled with injuries. Watts then finished his career back in Michigan playing two seasons with Oakland before heading overseas.
