Sabrina Ionescu continues to light up the playmaking records as she made WNBA history following her performance in the New York Liberty’s win over the Chicago Sky on Monday night.

Ionescu is going through the seventh season of her WNBA career with the Liberty. She shines as one of the best players in the league, shining with her ability to create big plays for herself and teammates.
That signature trait of hers appeared once again during New York’s clash with Seattle. In 29 minutes of action, Ionescu finished with a stat line of 18 points, five assists and two rebounds. She shot 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Her playmaking display saw her make history as she now has the most assists all-time following 200 career games, per ESPN Insights.

How Sabrina Ionescu, Liberty played against Storm
Sabrina Ionescu and the Liberty balled out on the offensive side of the ball, securing a 95-83 win over the Storm.
New York got off to a strong start, leading 28-18 after the first quarter. Despite Seattle’s efforts to cut the deficit, the hosts fired back with a solid overall performance in the second half to secure the win.
Four players scored in double-digits for New York in the win, including Ionescu. Breanna Stewart delivered a strong performance with 24 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two blocks. Jonquel Jones came next with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Pauline Astier provided 12 points and two assists.

New York improved to an 18-13 record on the season, holding the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Washington Mystics and the Chicago Sky while tailing the Atlanta Dream and the Indiana Fever.
The Liberty will look forward to their next matchup, remaining at home. They host the Storm in a rematch on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. ET.
