Former Vanderbilt power forward Jalen Washington committed to Tennessee on Monday, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
He entered the NCAA transfer portal in April and was granted an injunction against the NCAA on July 31, allowing him to compete during the 2026-27 basketball season.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound transfer is from West Side High School in Gary, Indiana. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 29 transfer power forward and No. 165 transfer in the cycle.
Washington played his first three seasons at North Carolina. He averaged 5.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game in his final season with the Tar Heels.
In his one season at Vanderbilt, Washington averaged 5.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 20.6 minutes per game.
Tennessee has nine incoming transfers for the 2026-27 basketball season: shooting guard Tyler Lundblade, combo guard Jalen Haralson, small forward Juke Harris, point guard Terrence Hill Jr., point guard Dai Dai Ames, power forward Miles Rubin, power forward Christian Fermin, small forward Braedan Lue and Washington.

The Vols have four commitments in their 2026 basketball recruiting class: small forward Ralph Scott, power forward Manny Green, point guard Marquis Clark and power forward Chris Washington Jr.
