Browns add another free agent defender to roster, waive OT

Training camp is all about evaluation for teams, especially the Cleveland Browns, who are trying to decide who their starting quarterback will be. Whether it is underrated players, impressive NFL draft picks, or the bottom of the roster, Browns GM Andrew Berry and HC Todd Monken have a lot of people to keep their eyes on.

Interestingly, Monken noted that he isn’t fully evaluating the quarterbacks right now due to the install process the team is going through.

Other players, on the other hand, are having decisions made after evaluation. On Monday, Cleveland waived UDFA RB TJ Harden to make room for DT Travis Bell. On Tuesday, the Browns waived OT Jack Conley to make room for signing former Seattle Seahawks CB Tyler Hall.

An undrafted free agent in 2020, Hall has played for four teams, including one game last season for the Super Bowl champions. With the Las Vegas Raiders, Hall had his most playing time in 2022 and 2023 when he combined to play 18 games with six starts. All but six of his defensive snaps came during those two seasons, while he has also contributed 253 snaps on special teams.

Conley was an undrafted free agent in 2025 and spent time on three practice squads, including the Browns, last season, but did not see any regular-season action.
