The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement with free-agent guard Alondes Williams, Chris Haynes reported Friday. Williams returns to Washington after scoring a career-high 25 points for the Wizards last season.
Williams, 27, appeared in four NBA games for Washington in 2025-26, averaging 11.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 25.3 minutes per game. He shot 61.5% from the field, 35.7% from three-point range and 87.5% from the free-throw line while posting a 71.2% effective field-goal percentage.
His 25-point performance marked the highest-scoring game of his NBA career. Williams also averaged 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks during his four-game stint with the Wizards, while committing 1.3 turnovers per game.
Williams’ NBA sample remains limited. He has played 13 games across four seasons with Brooklyn, Miami, Detroit and Washington, averaging 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 9.7 minutes per game.
His larger body of work has come in the G League, where Williams has established himself as a productive scorer and playmaker. In 35 games for the Capital City Go-Go during the 2025-26 season, he averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 35.8 minutes per game.
Williams shot 46.0% from the field and 39.0% from three-point range on 7.5 attempts per game in the G League last season. He also averaged 1.5 steals and recorded four double-doubles, finishing with 37.9 fantasy points per game.
The signing gives Washington another experienced developmental guard as the franchise continues building around Trae Young, Anthony Davis and its young core. The Wizards went 17-65 in 2025-26, finishing 15th in the Eastern Conference, but their offseason included selecting AJ Dybantsa No. 1 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Washington’s backcourt already features young players such as Tre Johnson, Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly, while Young provides the team’s primary veteran playmaking presence. Williams adds another guard capable of creating offense and contributing as a rebounder from the perimeter.
His recent production also gives Washington a player with significant G League experience to continue developing within a roster built around younger prospects. Williams has now averaged at least 18.7 points in each of his last two G League seasons, including 20.3 points and 7.1 assists in 43 games with Sioux Falls in 2023-24.
