Over the last two years, Mateusz Gamrot has alternated wins and losses, making it hard for him to make a case for a title shot. That said, he is still ranked No. 6, and one more win could break him into the Top 5. Gamrot seems to have often fallen short right when he’s about to make the leap to title contention. Still, he was the last person to defeat Arman Tsarukyan four years ago. But while Tsarukyan is nearing a title shot, Gamrot’s career hasn’t quite gone as well since that win, suffering big losses against Dan Hooker and Charles Oliveira. Still, Gamrot is as game and dangerous as they come and has a golden opportunity to crash the championship picture. Of course, he is going to have to take out a rising star who is ready to make his own statement.

Speaking of which, Salkilld has been nothing short of impressive since making his UFC debut 16 months ago. During that time, he has racked up five straight victories including four first-round stoppages such as his most recent knockout win over longtime veteran, Beneil Dariush. Gamrot will without a doubt be the toughest test of his career, and some feel this may a bit too much for him too soon. But that’s the part of wanting to be a title contender, you have to take out the big fish in order get there. And Salkilld has no problem with that. An impressive win over Gamrot puts him in the Top 5, and sets him up for a bigger fight that can put him into the championship picture. It’s a tall order to say the least, but the Aussie is up for the task, and this should make for a great fight. On the flip side, Gamrot wants to prove that he should be considered among the cream of the crop at Lightweight, and a win here will accomplish just that.

A women’s Strawweight bout between Amanda Lemos and Denise Gomes was scheduled for the event before Gomes had to withdraw for undisclosed reasons. Stepping in to take her place is Alexia Thainara, who is scorching hot with 12 straight wins, three in a row inside the Octagon. Lemos, meanwhile, is currently riding a two-fight skid so she needs a win pretty badly here in order to prevent falling further down the rankings.

Jessie Rosas — younger brother of Raul Rosas Jr. — was set to make his UFC debut before UFC doctors pulled him from a fight due to a small cut on his face (not herpes). As a result, Gianni Vasquez got the call up to step in to fill the void on super-short notice. This is the second time Vasquez has gotten the call up on short notice, losing to Javid Basharat earlier this year. He came in five pounds heavy for that fight and went on to lose a unanimous decision. He was then let go by the promotion soon thereafter and now has the chance to make a better impression against a man who is on a three-fight losing streak.
New Blood:

Two UFC newcomers will square off against one another as Gigi Canuto and Carol Foro will battle in a Strawweight fight. Canuto comes in with a 7-1 record and was a contestant on TUF 34, though she ultimately came up short in her bid to win the whole thing. As for Foro, she comes in with a 9-1 pro record and earned her way in via the Contender Series. She is currently riding high with seven straight wins.

Winner of seven straight, Richie Miranda — a longtime LFA veteran — will make his UFC debut when he goes up against Manoel Sousa. Miranda has an overall record of 13-1 with eight finishes on his record so he will be a welcomed addition to the Lightweight division. As for Sousa, he is currently riding a three-fight win streak and made a successful UFC debut after defeating Bolaji Oki earlier this year via knockout (video replay here). He also has a knockout win over Mauricio Ruffy on the regional circuit.

In Heavyweight action, Jose Luiz brings a three-fight win streak with him as he prepares to make his first appearance inside the Octagon against Louie Sutherland. Luiz only has 6-1 record in his young UFC career, but the UFC’s Heavyweight division needs all the help it can get, so he is a nice addition. As for Sutherland, after coming up short in his first two attempts inside the Octagon he was able to lock down his first win with the promotion by defeating Tai Tuivasa via unanimous decision a few months ago.
How The ‘Prelims’ Look:

Both Guilherme Pat and Steven Asplund are hoping to avoid their second straight defeats as they go toe-to-toe in a Heavyweight fight that is crucial for their careers. Pat started off his career at 6-0 with with four knockouts, and defeated Allen Frye via unanimous decision late last year in his promotional debut. He then ran into a problem against Thomas Petersen, who defeated him via majority decision earlier this year. As for Asplund, he impressed with a knockout win over Sean Sharaf in his UFC debut, then came up short against Vitor Petrino earlier this year.

After suffering two straight defeats in his first two outings inside the Octagon, Diyar Nurgozhay was able to lock down his first-ever win with the promotion by defeating Rafael Tobias via unanimous decision a few months ago. He will look to make it two straight as he battles Bruno Lopes, who finds himself in a bit of slump, losing his last two fights after making a successful debut with the promotion by defeating Magomed Gadzhiyasulov.
Who Needs A Win Badly:

Ravena Oliveira has had three chances to impress UFC matchmakers and she has fallen flat each time. As she goes into her fourth fight under the UFC banner against Juliana Miller, she finds herself in a must-win situation because another defeat could be the end of the road for her with the promotion. And the same can go for Miller, who is 1-3 under the UFC banner.

The co-main event features a couple of fighters on two-fight losing streaks, which makes you wonder how on earth they were tasked with co-headlining duties. Indeed, Billy Quarantillo and Diego Ferreira last tasted victory two years ago, so they both need a win very badly. Sadly, one man will go home with three straight wins and with the danger of a pink slip lurking around the corner. That said, despite their struggles both men know how to bring it and they will put on a show win, lose or draw and this matchup should be no different.

Billy Goff has had better days inside the cage. After enjoying a seven-fight win streak from 2020-2023, including wins over at the now-defunct Bellator MMA promotion and a UFC debut win against Yusaku Kinoshita, he has since gone on to lose two in a row. He needs a win pretty badly to hold on to his spot on the UFC roster as he prepares to battle Ty Cole Miller, who is undefeated at 7-0 and is coming off a stellar debut by knocking out Adam Fugitt in the very first round earlier this year (recap here).

After kicking off his MMA career with 10 straight wins — including winning his first two fights inside the Octagon via first-round submission — Yadier del Valle had to swallow the bitter pill of his first-ever loss after losing to Jordan Leavitt earlier this year. Now, “The Cuban Problem” intends to be just that, a problem, for longtime veteran Darren Elkins as they get set to tango in a Featherweight fight. Elkins has not stepped foot inside an MMA cage since losing to Julian Erosa in April 2025. He will attempt to shake off the rust and get back into the win column in what will be UFC fight No. 31 of his career, which will also be his last. He has the ability to go out on top, and since it will be the last time he steps foot inside the Octagon I have no doubt he will lay it all on the line to both entertain fans and to ride off into the sunset with a win.
