Patrick Beverley could be headed back to European basketball, with French club Boulazac Dordogne reportedly in talks with the veteran guard. Gabriel Pantel-Jouve of BeBasket reported Saturday that Boulazac is discussing a potential deal with the 38-year-old Beverley, one year after the club signed former NBA forward Tony Snell.
Beverley has not played in the NBA since the 2023-24 season, when he split the campaign between the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 73 games, including 13 starts, while shooting 41.7% from the field and 33.7% from three-point range.
His most recent European season came with PAOK in 2025-26. Beverley appeared in eight Greek Basket League games, averaging 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks in 22.4 minutes per game. He shot 33.3% overall and 27.5% from three.
A return to France would add another chapter to Beverley’s professional career, which began in Europe before he established himself as a long-term NBA guard. He played for Olympiacos in 2009-10 and Spartak in 2011-12 and 2012-13, producing 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 16 EuroCup appearances for Spartak during the 2011-12 season.
Beverley then spent 12 NBA seasons with Houston, the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago, Philadelphia and Milwaukee. He finished his NBA career with averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 666 regular-season games.
Defense was a defining part of Beverley’s NBA career. He received All-Defensive First Team honors in 2017 and Second Team selections in 2014 and 2020, while finishing as high as fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2015.
Boulazac finished 12th in the 2025-26 French league regular season with a 12-18 record. The club finished two wins behind ninth-place Elan Chalon and four games outside the playoff positions.
