Kelsey Plum joined the Phoenix Mercury at the beginning of a five-game road trip and will finish the stretch against her former team, the Los Angeles Sparks.
This week, Phoenix will play two games, starting with the Washington Mystics on Sunday, Aug. 9, before traveling to Los Angeles on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Phoenix has yet to face the Mystics this season. Two-time All-Stars Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen lead Washington’s young core, while Shakira Austin and rookie Lauren Betts provide an intimidating frontcourt.
The Mystics have the WNBA’s youngest average roster of 22 years and 9 months, while the Mercury are the league’s oldest at 30 years and six months.
Plum was traded to the Mercury from the Sparks on Aug. 2, which also sent point guard Monique Akoa Makani to Los Angeles. In 12 games with the Sparks, Plum averaged a career-high 23.9 points and 6.4 assists.
Entering their Wednesday, Aug. 5, road matchup with the Atlanta Dream, Phoenix star Kahleah Copper was averaging 21.2 points per game, followed by Alyssa Thomas‘ 15 points, 8.4 assists and 7.3 rebounds.

On Aug. 3 against the Chicago Sky, Thomas posted her 21st career triple-double in the win.
