So Penn State does have two #26s on the team this season, but they are both returning players: RB Cam Wallace and LB Cam Smith. So since those two are a bit known around here, I decided to take the liberty to profile a former 26 — Saquon Barkley.
How freaking awesome was this guy?! I will never see a better running back at Penn State than Saquon Barkley and I will spend the rest of my life defending that no matter who comes along the next 50 years. Fortunately, Saquon being a beast in the NFL will help his case because we have biases for college players who are just as great in the NFL, but I do think it’s interesting that Saquon’s highest rushing total season at Penn State is under 1,500 yards. Not exactly a staggering number, right? So I’m expecting people who didn’t *live* it to not understand the demon Saquon was. Behind a meh offensive line, this dude was a threat to score a touchdown every time he touched the ball. What a talent.
