Former ESPN media personality and NFL player Marcellus Wiley will not be facing domestic battery charges related to an altercation in a Florida hotel during which he jammed his finger in the face of his wife, Annemarie Wiley.
According to court records obtained by USA TODAY Sports, the State of Florida is choosing not to file charges in Wiley’s case. The decision, dated August 10, comes after testimonial evidence received was “not corroborated by any physical or other evidence,” which left it “insufficient to obtain conviction.”

“This action is taken to clear the records and to release subject’s bond if any has been posted responsive to the above charge or charges,” the filing read.
Wiley was originally arrested Saturday, July 4 on the alleged domestic battery charges. He was booked into the Orange County jail before being released July 5 on a bond of $1,000, according to jail records.
Wiley was subject to a no-contact order, also obtained by USA TODAY Sports, that prohibited him from being within 500 feet of Annemarie.
Wiley responded to the allegations against him in a post to X on July 6.
“I’m deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and concern for me and my itty bitties. Your support is fully appreciated,” Wiley wrote. “I completely and unequivocally deny these allegations, and I’m certain the truth will prevail.”

“As you know, I’m usually the first to break down the truth and separate facts from fiction,” he added. “But because this is now a legal matter – and because my greatest responsibility is protecting my babies, who have already been impacted – I have to handle this differently. When I can speak freely, I absolutely will.”
Wiley did not immediately address the dismissal of the charges against him.
What to know about accusations against Marcellus Wiley, divorce filing
At the time of Wiley’s arrest, Annemarie Wiley – whose name was not revealed in the arrest affidavit – told officers that Marcellus Wiley said he was going to kill her and she was afraid of his behavior. When asked to elaborate, she stated that Marcellus had put his hands on her the previous morning while in bed with their daughter.

Annemarie Wiley also filed for divorce and applied for a restraining order, according to the court documents. She cited irreconcilable differences. In the filings, Annemarie Wiley wrote that the former NFL player and media personality has “subjected me to a continuing and escalating pattern of physical violence, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse, financial control, and intimidation.”
Wiley accused her husband of raping her four times, the first instance occurring in 2012 and the other three in January 2026. She requested custody of the couple’s three children and told officers her husband had an unreported history of violence toward her and she was planning to divorce him when they returned home to California.
“I am afraid of Marcellus, and I fear for my own safety and for the safety of our children,” the filing said.
Marcellus Wiley allegedly punched and kicked Annemarie while they were married, the divorce filing said. He also crawled into a bed two of Annemarie’s friends shared in 2012, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reality star wrote in the filing.

Marcellus Wiley responded to the allegations against him in a social media post on July 7, in which he accused Annemarie Wiley of infidelity and of placing a “voodoo spell” on the family.
“I am prepared to address these allegations and related matters through the legal process and with evidence,” Wiley wrote in the post. “My focus remains on my children, my integrity, and the truth. Thanks for your understanding.”
