Another disappointing offseason for Golden State Warriors fans after falling short in landing superstars who could help franchise player Stephen Curry.
The 38-year-old guard might be in urgent need of stars to make one more championship run.
Speaking with general manager Mike Dunleavy, the Golden State front office has been ‘super aggressive’ in acquiring key players for them to become a playoff contender.
“We’re super aggressive. I mean, if people knew the cold calls I made, offering a lot of stuff for players, I think they’d realize how hard we’re trying,” Dunleavy said.
Obviously, the other teams won the negotiations in acquiring the ideal players that could impact a single team that can reach the postseason.
“There’s a lot of guys that we really, really value that don’t get moved, and that’s probably because so do those teams,” Dunleavy added.
However, here’s the outlook in the major and minor offseason trades, and the Warriors have not been in final negotiations.
– Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors for a package centered around Brandon Ingram, two first-round picks and one first-round swap (pending)
– Jaylen Brown to the 76ers for a package centered around Paul George and two first-round picks
– Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat for a massive haul
– Lu Dort to the Hawks
– Miles Bridges to the Suns
Although it has been reported that Golden State had major interest in Leonard and Antetokounmpo, the negotiations might not have been enough due to not risking all their assets.
In addition, reports for the Warriors said a “gap year” for the upcoming season to build a contender roster in the 2027-28 campaign.
