Former Badgers star heading to 9th school in 9 years

One of the Wisconsin Badgers biggest transfer portal hits over the last few years was wing AJ Storr, who had significant interest in the portal after his freshman season at St. John’s.

Wisconsin, believing he could break out after Storr averaged 8.8 points and shot over 40 percent from three, beat out several other teams and made him a focal part of the offense in 2023-24.

Storr nearly doubled his scoring output, averaging 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 32.0 percent from three. Wisconsin went from an NIT team to a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but Storr’s tenure in Madison was short-lived as he entered the portal again and found a big opportunity at Kansas.

Well, he proved to be a poor fit with the Jayhawks, seeing only 15.4 minutes a game there, and transferred again for his senior season to Ole Miss under head coach Chris Beard. There, Storr bounced back, averaging 15.5 points on 44.8 percent from the field, while playing 26.3 minutes per game.

Ole Miss was Storr’s eighth school in eight years, dating back to high school, as he also played for four different high schools: Kankakee High School, Bishop Gorman High School, Chandler High School, and then a post-graduate season at IMG Academy.

Following the court ruling allowing fifth-year seniors another year of eligibility, Storr is returning to college basketball and will now play for a ninth school in nine years, as he entered the transfer portal and committed to UNLV.

There, he joins Sebastian Mack, Alyn Breed, Jeremy Foumena and Cam Miles as incoming transfers, and should have a clear shot at immediate playing time.
