Tony Rojas was the No. 8 linebacker in the 2023 class when he committed to Penn State. His breakout season in 2024 gave the fanbase optimism that he could be the next great linebacker at Penn State. The most notable play of his career so far was a pick six in the first round of the 2024 College Football Playoff that gave the Nittany Lions a two-score lead against visiting SMU:
Rojas became the face of the linebacker group for the 2025 season and got off to an excellent start in the regular season. His season unfortunately was cut short after four games with a knee injury. As we quickly found out, the defense was completely lost against UCLA without him, and without any game-breakers at linebacker, the middle of the defense struggled to adjust. His health will be of utmost importance this season. If Rojas is back to normal, he projects to be one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten.
Only 13 more days until Penn State’s season opener against Marshall!
