Michael Jordan’s Game 3 jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals is going to auction, with owner Rob Gough predicting it could sell for $100 million.

“I think this will be the first jersey to hit $100 million,” Gough said.

Jordan wore the jersey when the Chicago Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz by 42 points, setting the record for the largest victory in NBA Finals history.

Gough acquired the jersey four years ago after a lengthy search and initially displayed it at his home before moving it into a vault.

“It’s interesting, because I have a lot of great art. And when people come to the house, they skip right over the art and go right to the jersey,” he said.

“That’s when I realized that this stuff is the new modern art.”

Jordan’s Game 1 jersey from the same Finals sold for $10.1 million in 2022. Gough believes the Game 3 jersey is more significant because it was worn in a historic victory.

“He lost Game 1 … I don’t personally buy games where a guy loses because you’re saying, ‘That jersey on the wall, remember when Michael Jordan lost that game?’ You just don’t say that,” Gough said.

The Game 3 jersey will be offered through Joopiter, with bidding beginning Sept. 15.
