Detroit Red Wings teammates Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider were recently included in rankings of the NHL’s top 20 wingers and defensemen, respectively.
Now, their current – and potentially soon-to-be-former – teammate, Dylan Larkin, has also been included in a top-20 ranking.

Larkin came in at No. 20 in a recent ranking of the NHL’s top 20 centers:
Larkin, who has skated for Detroit since 2015-16, is coming off his fifth straight season of scoring at least 30 goals. He also helped Team USA win the gold medal for the first time in over 40 years earlier this spring in theĀ Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

However, Larkin is in the midst of a standoff with the Red Wings after requesting a trade and limiting the number of destinations to which he would accept a trade to just three.

Right now, the Red Wings are also in the midst of a leadership transition following the news last month that Steve Yzerman vacated his role as general manager; right now, there is no official timeline as to when a new GM will be named.
The first matter of business that Detroit’s eventual new general manager will have to confront is figuring out Larkin’s situation and potentially seeing if there is an avenue for reconciliation, or to convince him to expand his trade destination list.
The Red Wings begin Training Camp for the upcoming 2026-27 NHL season on Sept. 17.
