A new transfer guard prospect has emerged for Michigan State basketball

by

There is a lot of speculation and interest circulating on how Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo is going to round out the transfer portal class heading into the 2025-26 season. The Spartans have already added Kaleb Glenn into the mix, and with the departure of Tre Holloman to NC State, the Spartans have several guard holes that they need to fill.

A new guard that has appeared to has emerged as a prospect on the Spartans recruiting board is Missouri State shooting guard transfer Vincent Brady.

Brady, a 6-foot-4 guard that hails from Indianapolis, Indiana, and played his high school basketball at Cathedral Prep in Indianapolis, a school Izzo is very familiar with. He also played prep ball at the Air Force Prep academy in Colorado, showing the character the player has.

Prior to playing at Missouri State, Brady spent two years at Indiana University-Indianapolis of the Horizon league. In his two years at IU-Indy, he averaged 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists. In his one season at Missouri State, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 44.8 field goal percentage and 38.0 percent from 3-point range. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Brady would have a strong fit with the Spartans, being someone who is a high character individual that would fit tremendously in MSU’s culture, while also possessing the skill set needed to step into the shooting guard role at MSU, most likely as a scorer off the bench, providing a spark when needed.

As the Spartan coaching staff normally does, information is very close to the vest, and there is not a total confirmation whether or not there is mutual interest, or if the Spartans are really pursuing at all, but some rumblings within the fan base and social media shows that it is a name worth monitoring.
