Adam Peaty Returns To Training At Repton School With Coach Jamie Main

Adam Peaty is back in the water under the watchful eye of coach Jamie Main at Repton School, where he trained with Mel Marshall at the start of his glittering career.

There’ve been many questions about his future and whether he plans to continue until the Olympics in Los Angeles after the three-time Olympic champion missed a third straight 100m breaststroke title at Paris 2024 by 0.02.

Peaty told Swimming World in an interview in December that he planned to mainly base himself in the English midlands while also spending time in London and Saudi Arabia, to where AP Race – the brand he co-founded with Ed Baxter has expanded.

Now he’s back at the private school where he worked with Marshall as he enjoyed his early international success at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and European Championships before the pair moved to Loughborough.

Peaty and Main know each other from their Loughborough days where the latter worked before moving to Bath Performance Centre. He left there in October 2024 to become Repton’s director of swimming.

Peaty posted on social media, saying: “I’ve chosen to return to @reptonswimming under coach Jamie Main. It’s a place that I’ve spent many years already and I couldn’t think of anywhere else to continue my career (it was my training base for the Rio 2016). It’s also a place where we have ran lots of @apraceofficial clinics and we’re always so impressed, especially, with their investment in sporting excellence.

“One set from 2015 back in the day with @melmarshallmassive just reminding me of all the fond memories I have there. Time to get to work.”
