Vanderbilt basketball landed a transfer commitment from AK Okereke of Cornell, according to a report from Joe Tipton of On3 Sports on April 22.
Okereke went from deep bench walk-on to starter in three years with the Big Red. The 6-foot-7, 241-pounder played in 29 games in 2024-25, averaging 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game with a 59.5% field-goal percentage.

Okereke’s former teammate at Cornell, Chris Manon, played at Vanderbilt last season though he is now out of eligibility. Okereke is a similar player as a versatile wing who is a strong defender and can get to the rim.
