After falling to Duke on Mar. 30, Youngblood told the Tuscaloosa News that he planned to keep playing after college, and he’s been taking the steps to do so. Youngblood was invited to the 71st Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April and impressed over the course of the three-day pre-draft camp.

Cyro Asseo de Choch was in attendance for the PIT and described Youngblood as a guy who brought a “scoring punch and defensive tenacity.” Youngblood shot 46.2% from the floor and 100% from the free-throw line to average 11 points per game while putting up averages of two boards and two assists per game.

Choch also praised Youngblood for his basketball IQ and “nonstop motor,” although he clarified the 6-foot-4 Tuscaloosa, Ala. native probably isn’t a “primary shot creator” and would fare better as a “reserve role player who knows his job.”
