by

The Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball program received some significant roster news Saturday afternoon, as a total of four players all announced that they would be returning to Tuscaloosa for the 2025-26 season.

That group of players included Aden Holloway, Latrell Wrightsell Jr., Aiden Sherrell, and Houston Mallette, with every announcement made via a social media post on “Yea Alabama,” the Crimson Tide’s official NIL entity.

Of that group, Holloway is one of the more notable, as the guard averaged 11.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game on 41.2% shooting from three-point range, posting career-high’s nearly across the board compared to his freshman season at Auburn. Wrightsell is also a significant return, as the veteran guard appeared in eight games for Alabama prior to suffering a season-ending injury, averaging 11.5 points per game on 42.2% shooting from three.

As for the others, Sherrell is likely to play an increased role next season after averaging 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game on 51.1% shooting from the field, while Mallette is another veteran who missed a majority of the season as the result of an injury. The guard appeared in six games, averaging 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game on 50% (5-of-10) shooting from three.

The group of Holloway, Wrightsell, Sherrell, and Mallette are the first Alabama players to publicly announce a return to Tuscaloosa for the 2025-26 season.
