Perez (26-10 MMA, 8-6 UFC), a former UFC flyweight title challenger, snapped a two-fight skid in his most recent bout by knocking out Charles Johnson this past January at UFC 324.

Mudaerji (19-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will enter UFC Macau on a roll after winning three fights in a row, most recently beating Jesus Aguilar in March.

Kicking off the main card in proper fashion is a flyweight fight between Alex Perez and Su Mudaerji that has fireworks written all over it.

I still believe that Perez is one of the better flyweights that this division has had to offer over the past decade, but crazy circumstances and undeniable bad luck have plagued the American’s path (almost as if the curse of Ian McCall was passed onto Perez).

Nevertheless, Perez has still managed to maintain a ranking spot and is coming off a big upset win over Charles Johnson earlier this year.

Mudaerji has made measurable improvements to his game that he deserves credit for, but I’m not sure his southpaw stylings will be enough to keep Perez off of him.
